My name is Jerry Tsang (Tsang Tin Yuen), currently 22 years old, and I have always been fascinated by Nature since I was a little kid. It all started in 2017, when 15-year-old me who had never taken a photo in his life saw a photo of a ladybug on Facebook, and was drawn to the beauty and intricate details of the Macro world. At age 16, My mom bought me my first DSLR camera with a macro lens, and that’s when I started my photographic journey

Philosophy and Backstory

Growing up in a tough situation, my family struggled to get by in Hong Kong, often sharing one meal and buying near-expired groceries due to high living costs.

Having ADHD and being short made me a target for teachers and classmates. Poor test scores and difficulty making friends led me to change schools five times in my teenage years.

As I was about to finish high school, the COVID-19 pandemic closed schools, leading me to an unexpected trip to Bali, Indonesia. What began as a short vacation turned into three life-changing years. I connected with nature through hiking, diving, and photography, exploring Indonesia's varied landscapes, which started my nomadic lifestyle as a nature photographer.

Even now I continue to face COVID numerous times, dealing also with knee injuries and pneumonia, it continues to build my resilience.

These life experiences shaped my form of photography, to capture vitality, resilience, and serenity in nature.

Capturing photos that feels like a golden gleam over a summer lake, snowfall like goose feathers, the smell of a brewing storm, raging waves overpowering, frigid winds permeating through your skin, lungs gasping for air, steaming blood flowing from open wounds. The stench of death and life that rises from it.

All that makes you feel alive and living, grasping on and pulling through, to realise a burst of unimaginable strength resides within us all.

What I do:

I Photograph everything related to the natural world; Including all kinds of Flora & Fauna, Landscapes/Seascapes, Astro, Underwater & more…

Celebrating and Appreciating Nature through photography and reconnecting people with nature is my goal, in this day and age where our mobile devices and the concrete jungles that we live in cause us to lose touch with nature, health conditions & all sorts of mental problems are on an unstoppable rampage; And Mother Nature has been proven to be an amazing medicine for these conditions.

Through my photography I wish to spark fascination, and kindle a passion for Nature & our Planet, and ignite the flames that were long lost within people’s hearts.
